WESTCHESTER EVENTS

The Westchester Band and its repertoire of pop, opera and jazz will present a concert in Scarsdale's Chase Park Thursday, July 17 at 8 pm. YWAA invites Yale alumni, families and friends to join together for a Yale summer outing under the stars, organized by YWAA board Vice President BK Munguia '75.  Bring a picnic basket, a blanket and listen to the Band, conducted by Alan Hollander.

There will be a Yale picnic area under blue and white balloons and a Yale banner in Chase Park, which is located at 32 Chase Road across the street from the Scarsdale post office.  The concert starts just as the sun sets. The band will also play big-band, light classics and show tunes.  The event is free and sponsored by the Scarsdale Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department.

Hollander, the Westchester Band leader for 14 years, has also conducted the American Wind Ensemble, the Westchester Pops and the Larchmont Symphony.  An accomplished oboist, he is a professor of music at Lehman College.
